BRIBERY: POLICE TO DECLARE FAROUK LAWAN WANTED AS HOUSE RECALLS MEMBERS FROM RECESS TO HOLD EMERGENCY SESSION ON FRIDAY


The chairman of the House of Representatives probe panel on fuel subsidy management,Farouk Lawan on wednesday failed to show up at the police headquarters for interrogation yesterday.According to police sources,the police has concluded arrangement to have the lawmaker declared wanted.Click on read more below to continue..
A member of the team investigating the bribery scandal has said that the police have enough evidence against the lawmaker to declare him wanted over the allegation by billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola that Lawan took $620,000 bribe from him.According to the police,Lawan had been invited since June 5 to report on June 7 but uptill 6pm yesterday,June 13,he had failed to show up.

Meanwhile,the House of Representatives had cut short it's recess for an emergency PLENARY SESSION tomorrow to consider the allegations of the $3 million cash for clearance scandal involving Farouk Lawan.The lawmakers who have been on a one-week recess that would have ended next tuesday have been summoned urgently to avoid the scandal degenerating beyond redemption by tuesday when they were expected to resume plenary session.
