2 Students Die At Ambrose Alli University,Ekpoma

It was a tragic day yesterday when two students of the Ambrose Alli University,Ekpoma (a male and a female) died after a well at the Kudirat Abiola female hostel collapsed.The school has a dam which supplies water to the campus but the pumping machine which supply water to the hostel was faulty so the the students resorted to fetching water from the well which serves as a kind of reservoir.

Our sources say the the girls were busy with their morning routines,some were washing on top of the well while some were fetching water to take their bath before going for lectures when the top of the well caved in and 7 girls fell in.
Six of them were rescued alive by students around.The boy who died was trying to rescue the girl who also died.She was a final year student of political science.

The students went on rampage,vandalising school properties and as a result the school authorities shut down the school and asked students to go home.The rescued are recuperating at the the Irrua Teaching Hospital,Irrua.
