THE AMAAS ARE HERE

AMAA,African Movie Academy Awards,currently the African continent's most prestigious awards for filmmakers and actors will take place this sunday,April 22,2012 at the Expo Hall,Eko Hotels & Suites.This is the first time the awards ceremony will be held in Lagos in its 8year journey.This year's event will be hosted by Haitian born international actor,Jimmy Jean Louis.Several Hollywood actors are expected to grace this event including Lynn Whitfield and Morris Chestnut.Nigeria's Tuface Idibia and Asa are among those billed to perform at this high-octane event.

Red carpet starts at 4pm while the main event kicks off at 7pm.53 African countries are being represented while awards in 26 categories will be given out.Several Nigerian movie makers are among those being closely watched for the awards including Rita Dominic for Best Actress in a leading role and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde.
