BREAKING NEWS: UNILAG SHUT DOWN AS STUDENTS TAKE PROTEST TO THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE


The authorities of the University of Lagos have shut down the school for two weeks today in an attempt to stop the student's protest which had entered its second day today.The students have defiled the heavy downpour in the Lagos metropolis and taken their protest to the Third Mainland Bridge,blocking both sides of the bridge that links the mainland to the island. Click on read more below to continue...




The school Alumni has also taken the Federal Government to court over renaming the school.The President and Senate are scheduled to meet this afternoon on this matter.

  1. Late Moshood Abiola fought and died for democracy in Nigeria. Naming a Federal Govt Institution after him was long overdue.I congratulate the Jonathan administration for this good gesture.This is probably the only good thing this administration has done so far.
    The students of the institution should look beyond how the name sounds and appreciate what MKO ABIOLA stood for in the strugle for a democratic Nigerian State.
