HOW ABDUCTED GERMAN WAS KILLED IN KANO CROSS-FIRE

Abductors of a German engineer,on Thursday in Kano shot and killed the expatriate during a rescue mission spearheaded by men of the Joint Task Force on anti-terrorism. The German was an engineer on the employ of Dantata and Sawoe Construction company Ltd who had been abducted since January 26,2012 along Zaria Road by gunmen suspected to be members of a terrorist group.Click on read more below to continue...
A group claiming affiliation to Al-Qaeda Islamic Magreb (AQIM) 
released a video in March claiming Mr Raupach was kidnapped in exchange for the release of Filz Gelowicz,a Turkish born woman who was jailed last year in Germany for aiding terrorism.The terrorists who were holding the ''Sura Council''described as the highest decision making organ that had in attendance the commanders and strategists had their meeting disrupted when the security operatives swooped on them.

On seeing the military operatives,the terrorists opened fire and threw improvised explosive devices (IED'S) on the security forces.During the encounter that lasted about 30 minutes,the JTF claimed that five of the terrorists were killed though residents of the area are saying the casualties were more.The dead were taken away by the military operatives.A British and French national were killed in March in a similar botched rescue mission.
