At the Benin High Court on Wednesday,David Erhabor,husband of a former commissioner in Edo State,Florence Igbinigie-Erhabor,testified''there was a day she came back home drunk and without a pant on her.She was in the habit of keeping late nights.''David while testifying in a divorce suit,No HAB/16d/ 2011 instituted by his wife,a former commissioner for Women Affairs under Lucky Igbinedion told the court that he did not envisage a broken home in his life.Click on read more below to continue....
David,a former Senior Adviser to former Governor Oserhiemen Osunbor told the court that there was a time his wife of 15years left their home and two children for three days ''only to be caught red-handed inside a vehicle,romancing and kissing a man who had earlier gassed him.''He said trouble started after his wife was appointed commissioner,after which she started keeping late nights.In regards to custody of their children,David said they could stay with whoever they wanted during the holidays.
Florence who has been separated from her husband since 2009,among other prayers is asking the court to grant her divorce on the grounds of threat to her life, violent assault and infidelity on the part of her husband.She alleged that he cheated on her with their housemaid and also at one time,put the children inside a vehicle and threatened to set them ablaze.
She is also seeking that her husband pay N150,000 as monthly upkeep for the children and be compelled to pay the children's school fees which she said she has been solely responsible for all these years.Justice Anthony Erhabor adjourned the case till August 14,2012.
