SENATE SUSPENDS DANA AIR OPERATIONS, ORDERS DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF NIGERIAN CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY,HAROLD DEMUREN TO PROCEED ON LEAVE


The Senate,today suspended all operations of Dana Air in the country,until all the planes in its fleet are certified fit to travel.It also ordered Dr Harold Demuren,Director-General of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to proceed on leave until the investigations into the crashed Dana Air plane is completed.As of this evening 150 bodies have been recovered from the scene of last sunday's Dana Air plane crash in Lagos.Click on read more below to continue...
 
 The spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Yushau Shuaib, said that while most of the bodies were burned beyond recognition,others were intact and had few bruises lending credence to eye witness testimonies that some passengers were still alive when the plane crashed.The plane exploded after it crashed into several buildings.Emergency services did not arrive the scene until an hour and half after the crash.
