BLOODBATH IN PLATEAU STATE AS SERVING SENATOR AND MEMBER,PLATEAU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ARE KILLED



Suspected Fulani herdsmen on Sunday shot and killed a serving senator,
Gyang Dantong and the lawmaker representing Barkim Ladim in the state House of Assembly,Gyang Fulani at a mass burial in Maseh,Plateau state. Gyang who was representing Plateau North and Fulani who was the Majority Leader of the state House of Assembly were killed along with over 50 people by the herdsman around 2:30pm.

The incident followed the earlier gruesome discovery of 50 corpses in a church in the area.They were the corpses of members of a church said to have fled an onslaught by the Fulani herdsmen.The lawmakers were attending the mass burial of the 50 victims when they were murdered.The latest attacks come as a setback to efforts by the new National Security Adviser,Col Sambo Dasuki (Rtd) to restore peace to the troubled state.
