Typically,there are procedures that allow a civil servant to be seconded to another office while their promotions continue to run but the office of the First Lady is not a legally recognised office so the Governor's claim that Mrs Jonathan left the service on a leave of absence as a teacher to assist her husband as deputy governor,then governor of Bayelsa State before becoming President would not hold water.The position of a permanent secretary is the pinnacle of a civil service career,it is not a political appointment and requires promotions through the ranks.
Mrs Jonathan obtained the National Certificate of Education (NCE) in Mathematics/Biology in 1989 from Rivers State College of Education and a Bachelors of Education in Biology and Psychology from the University of Port-Harcourt(year of graduation unknown).Mrs Jonathan's work experience supposedly include : teaching,banking,sports administration and the state civil service.
Na wa,what does she need this for again?After eveything they have been amassing,is she going to wear all those diamonds to work in one ministry? Madame Patience,you cannot forcefully make yourself relevant with the way you bomb the English Language or you want to run for senate later? ReplyDeleteWell she has to vacate the office of first lady to take the appointment. That is an opportunity for GEJ to take another wife as there will be vacancy in the office of the first lady of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
