SUICIDE BOMBER HITS SHEHU OF BORNO'S PALACE IN MAIDUGURI

A suicide bomber and four other persons were killed in an explosion in Maiduguri,the Borno State capital today.The News Agency of Nigeria reports that this was confirmed to it by the Commisioner of Police,Borno State Command,Bala Hassan.The suicide bomber had detonated an improvised explosive device at the palace of the Emir of Borno during today's Jumat prayers.

However,the monarch and the Deputy Governor of Borno State,Alhaji Zannah Mustapha who were among the hundreds of worshippers at the prayers escaped unhurt.Spokesman for the Joint Task Force(JTF) Lt Col Sagir Musa also stated that five persons died while six others including two soldiers died.
