Okene has hit 17. The latest casualty was reported by doctors
hours after the shooting. Unknown gunmen had on Monday night
invaded a Deeper Lifie Church in the Otite area of Okene,Kogi State,behind the Federal College of Education in the area
opening fire on worshippers observing night Bible studies.

Staff of the college including the Dean of Science,Esther Omeiza was critically injured in the attack.Family members said she was
shot both in the arms and legs.The pastor of the church,Stephen
Lambe,a lecturer of the Kogi State Polytechnic,Osura campus died
instantly during the attack.Survivors said the attackers first put off the church's power generating set before opening fire on the
victims from all sides of the uncompleted church leaving no room
for escape.
