There was panic in some parts of Abuja on Tuesday following reports of an explosion in Emab Shopping Complex in Lokongama area of the Federal Capital Territory.Reports stated that the explosion emanated from the compressor of an airconditioning unit in a laundry shop in the complex around 2a.m.
The compressor reportedly exploded, leading to a fire in the shop.
Fire fighters and policemen rushed to the scene and swiftly put out the fire.Spokesmen of the police and State Security Service confirmed the incident and denied that the explosion was caused by a bomb.
