WHY IS THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT/NYSC THIS INHUMANE TO NIGERIAN YOUTHS?

At this time of bombings, curfew and all sorts of insecurity in the northern states of Yobe,Kaduna,Kano,Bauchi and Borno,it is unbelievable that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) still posted helpless Nigerian youths to these states for the Batch B NYSC service year which is about to commence.Corps members posted to these  states have therefore asked NYSC to redeploy them from these troubled states.Click on read more below to continue...

Of course, top government functionaries or even NYSC staff will not deploy their own kids to these trouble spots but they can do so for other children of hardworking Nigerian parents.Youths who went to schools abroad are given a choice of where they want to serve so they get posted to Lagos or Abuja.
Children of Nigerians who have corruptly amassed wealth and can send their wards to school abroad don't get to be posted to these northern states.

Some of the corps members and their families who expressed their worries on social media sites including Facebook and Twitter said they were extremely sad and disappointed when they received their call-up letters, deploying them to these troubled states where there is currently, curfew, threats of reprisal attacks and senseless bombings. Some of the comments on social media sites read''We need to arise and stop the government from sentencing us and our loved ones to death. Is our government/NYSC this heartless or inhumane? We seek our immediate redeployment,we want to live in places where we can work with peace of mind."

NYSC is supposedly collaborating with the affected states on how to ensure security for the corp members posted to these states. The Governor of Borno State speking through the Commissioner for Information,Mr Inuwa Bwala made a case for corps members to be posted to the state. He said'' While it is true that we have security challenges,it is a fact that those challenges are not exclusive to Borno State. We don't have on record any attack on visitors neither do we have any attacks on NYSC camp or corps members to and currently serving in Borno State.'' Mr Commissioner,we don't have to wait for you to have a record before doing the right thing which is to suspend deploying corps members to unsafe states where residents who know the area well, are fleeing from.NYSC,it is better to be safe than sorry!
