SECURITY TOPS AGENDA AS HILLARY CLINTON VISITS NIGERIA


Security especially the wave of terrorism unleashed on Nigerians
by Boko Haram and bilateral issues dominated discussions Thursday between Hillary Clinton and President Goodluck Jonathan with top government officials. Clinton who was in
Nigeria as part of her whistle-stop tour of 11 African countries, during her discussions with Jonathan, the National Security Adviser and service chiefs pledged to supporting Nigeria to
tackle insecurity.

Foreign media had reported Thursday that Clinton would not
spend the night in Nigeria because of security fears, despite the
heightening of security in Abuja,she shelved many of her scheduled
activities and left for Ghana about 6:15pm.She will be attending
the funeral of the late President Atta Mills today.The federal
government had deployed security agents in many parts of the
Federal Capital Territory including all roads leading to the
Presidential Villa,the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and
Umaru Yar'Adua Way.
